I have an Acer 5535 Laptop that has been in storgage for about 4 years. When I took it out of storage and tried to turn it on, it will not start. No lights come on, nothing happens. I took the battery out, plugged in the laptop, it still will not start. The laptop is brand new, hardly used. Power cord looks like new.

Solution
Go to best buy, buy a cheap universal adapter. Leave the battery out still, and try plugging it in with the new cord and turning it on. If a laptop sits that long without being charged, for sure you're looking at a shot battery. But there shouldn't be an issue with plugging it in and getting it to work as well without the battery unless the adapter is shot as well.
