My home theater entertainment system surround sound is pretty old, and does not have HDMI capability, nor a ARC port. My new Samsung smart tv only has 1set of input/output ports which I have hooked to the cable box. Is it possible to use the HDMI for the cable box so I can plug in the in/out video and audio cables from the home theater to the TV? Or any other ideas of how I can get all 3 to work with the limited ports on the tv?

My audio is old enough to not support HDMI. I have a toslink cable running from the TV to the preamp. I had problems with synchronization when I got the audio directly from the cable box. After I switched to the digital output on the TV the audio and video stayed synched.
