Alright I know for the longest time all gpu's where attached to the mother board, but that has seemed to change on higher end laptops as mine is almost as easy to take out and replace as a desktop one. To be precise its about 9 screws away and it lifts and it pops out. My computer is a MSI GT70 0nd-202us and I wanted to know what would be a good gpu if possible to upgrade as my Nvidia Geforce GTX 675m fried on me and I need a new one( I think there was a power surge that fried my gpu). So does anyone have any ideas or should i just get the same card when I go to buy a new card? Although I ask about this maybe I should figure out if there is anything else wrong with my computer as after my gpu shorted out I;m no longer able to control the fan. I guess I'm asking if that's and if anyone has any ideas to upgrade my gpu.

Thanks

Uh if you can then consider the GTX 770M/775M or even the GTX 860M/870M, but this sounds more like voodoo to me. If you can replace it, you could try, but I don't even know where you could possibly get a card to work with this laptop.

Also, don't go to Haiti...

It has been a while and it took me some digging and trying, but I did finally manage to update my Laptop from a 657m to a 770m for my graphics card. Also it was a much better option that buying a new laptop as the card only cost me $270 but a new laptop of the same quality would have cost me over $600 to over $1000. Sorry to necro my old thread, but I figured a positive update was in order
