anyone know about gpu in laptops?

hi,
I have a sony vaio vgn fw56e. i am very keen on improving the laptops ability to process high end graphics but i read that most laptops do not have a gpu slot. looking in my systems device manager it says i have an ATI mobility radeon hd 4750. does this mean i have a dedicated graphics slot or do i have integrated?

any help is much appreciated. thanks

That's basically a whole new laptop, and even if you want to upgrade these things in your current laptop that will be difficult since laptops have a lot less moddability compared to desktops. And even if you wanted to the cost will be higher then buying a new laptop.
So if you want better graphics you would need to buy a new laptop

so, provided the power supply, cooling system and motherboard are upgraded (or sufficient as they are), are there higher end graphics cards to choose from?
