Hi all. Just another noob here needing help picking out a computer.

I need it to be will able to play Sims 3 & all it's expansions on medium-high settings. Other than that, I'll be using it for normal stuff like web browsing, typing, etc.

Basically I've narrowed it down between two models that have the highest specs I could find within my budget ($800, $850 max). Both laptops come with the same video card, which is the Nvidia 840m 2GB. I'm thinking the 840m should be fine for Sims 3 since it's previous version (the 740m) is known to be able to handle the game and it's all it's expansions on high-ish settings fairly well... according to Sims forums, at least. I thought it couldn't hurt to ask for a second opinion though.

Here are the laptops.

Laptop #1:

MSI GP60-10

- Intel Core i5-4200M 2.5 GHz (3 MB Cache, up to 3.1 GHz)
- 8 GB DDR3L SDRAM
- 750 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
- 15.6-Inch Screen, NVIDIA Geforce GT840M with 2GB GDDR3 VRAM
- Windows 8.1

Laptop #2:

Asus N56JN-EB71

- Intel Core i7-4710HQ 2.5GHz
- 8GB DDR3L RAM
- 750 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive
- NVIDIA Geforce 840m 2GB
- 15.6" Screen
- Windows 8.1

Both cost right at $800. I'm kind of leaning toward the Asus, since it has a slightly better processor but I'm not 100% sure. Which do you think I should go with? Do you have any better suggestions?

Thanks.
