Depends on what you are doing. The battery life stated by the manufacturer is generally for best case scenario where the screen brightness is set to 40% and you are not do much like surfing the web or watching movies. Basically, that means if you were to use the laptop to do office work or write essays.
Playing games and encoding video are probably the two best ways to drain the battery.
