How to get audio from PC to TV tower speakers?

I have an available HDMI slot in my PC's video card that I want to connect to my TV as a 3rd monitor for movies, I've never used HDMI for monitors but I'm guessing it would carry the sound with the video to the TV but what about if you have surround sound setup for your TV?

I'm guessing you have an AVR, does it have hdmi out for audio/video pass through? That will work if you want surround, or if you don't have an hdmi out on the AVR, use the optical out from the TV.
