computer says no bootable device toshiba

I have a Toshiba satellite c55 and I am having trouble getting it to boot. The screen keeps saying check media- fail. Then it says no bootable device- please restart system

First thing to check - make sure your BIOS is detecting all your hard drives, and the boot order is correct (if your DVD/CD-ROM is the first boot device - make sure there is no media in the drive).

I changed the boot mode to csm and now it's asking me for a boot disk. I do not have one.
