I wish I could go desktop, but do not have the room for it so I am forced to go laptop. I am looking for a laptop that will run MMORPG's and some games such as WOW. I don't think that I need an insane amount of gpu power as I am not a typical pc gamer, but console gamer. I just know that I will need a decent amount of ram. My current laptop does not even run WOW. WOW wont even open. I also do web development/design and will be a computer science student in the near future(about the next 3-4 months). Then the basics. My current laptop which is an ASUS Q501LA. It handles all my coding and running xampp and the basics fine without heating up too much unless using for hours which is expected. Now when I go into playing my MMORPG of choice, Runescape, I have issues of heat. The heat factor is why I particularly don't like laptops, but I also know that laptops are not really made for gaming. I just wanna be able to run Runescape smooth without too much heat. To the point where my laptop is hot on touch. Please no comments on how Runescape sucks and how Jagex screwed the community by updating to evolution of combat and all that nonsense. I hear enough of that in game.

Solution
I agree go for the y50

PROs
Price/performance ratio is the best

silent dual fans(but they are connected)

remains relatively cool under heavy load (shadow of mordor on ultra was at 70C CPU and 65C GPu with ambient at almost 40)

thin and comparitively light

battery last for 3hrs on wifi

CONS

horrible, horrible screen (bad viewing angle and that sort of stuff)- IPS creen replacement is around 70$

the keyboard and touchpad are OK

no space for extra ssd and optical drive(but thay gice u an external one for free)

All prices are from newegg

it has gtx 860m in all versions

i5 4210H version- 900$

i7 4700hq - 1000$

i7+4k screen -1150$

i7+touch screen - 1100$

hope it helps

i recommend the i5 version and get a screen...

THANKS!!!! I looked up the Y50 the only problem I see is the not having a optical drive which is an easy fix. Just have to invest in a good one this time. I went for a off brand cheap one last time and paid for it. Now just out of curiosity would I benefit from buying a laptop cooler?? Sorry if I am being annoying by asking to many questions. I just wanna make sure that I make a good investment.

you get a light external optical drive for free with it

PS- forgot benchmarks- all are ultra 1080p on demanding scenes

shadow of mordor (high textures) - 40FPS

witcher 2 (with/without ubersampling) - 18/40 FPS

darksouls 2 -60FPS

if you have found you answer ,pick a solution

hope that it helps!!
