Samsung Series 7 Ultrabook apparently doesn't like tea...

One of my colleagues asked me to look at their laptop, which they've helpfully spilled tea into. Unsurprisingly it's not working, but I agreed to have a look all the same. Looking inside the machine, there's no sign of damage to anything; if they hadn't told me what they'd done, I'd have no idea. There's no sign of any liquid/spill damage whatsoever anywhere.

Connecting the PSU while the battery is in will product the Samsung logo on the screen, and then show an animated battery icon on the screen, which will show for about 10 seconds and then turn the system off. This was more than I thought I'd get, so I took the battery out, and tried a few scenarios:

Disconnecting the CMOS battery will show the Samsung logo, then show a brief message (1 second or so) about needing to enter Setup, and then power off;
Disconnecting the SSD in there will show the Samsung logo, then show a brief message (1 second) about having no boot device;
Trying to connect via an HDMI cable just in case it WAS still running and showing nothing on screen produces nothing;
Disconnecting the WiFi module simply shows the logo, and then powers off as usual.

The system seems to WANT to start up, but after 5-6 seconds (always the same amount of time each time) just powers off. Considering what's happened to it, I'm not surprised, but I'm curious that it gets further than I thought it would, and there's no physical sign of any damage to it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Other than removing all hot drinks from my colleagues? :)
