Hello, I’m gonna purchase a Laptop in a week or two. I’m confused between several options. My primary purpose will be:

1. Programming – the keyboard should be good and comfortable.
2. Should handle any IDE I throw at it.
3. Should be able to record the screen smoothly (Camtasia Studio).
4. Light gaming like AOE 3, GTA IV etc. on medium to low settings.
5. Handle Virtual Machine.
6. Miscellaneous like Photoshop etc.

I type like 4-6 hours per day, so for me a bad keyboard or touchpad will ruin the entire Laptop. I’ve chosen the HP Pavilion 15-n201ax Laptop (APU Quad Core A10/ 8GB/ 1TB/ Win8.1/ 2GB Graph).

Going by the user reviews, this laptop can pretty much handle modern games at acceptable frame rates and its quite powerful, so should handle some demanding applications as well. So my question is, should I go for it? Any other suggestions? My budget is Rs. 40000 INR. Thank You.

The Laptop will handle older games easily, but newer games will struggle if not work at all. The CPU does support AMD-V which means you can use Virtual machines. The laptop however looks like it was found in the very back of a storage room because the CPU model is quite old, like 2 years old.

If everything else is way too much then I guess its ok to go with this, but you'll just end up having it turn into a giant paperweight sooner.
