So I may have done something stupid or something clever, I just bought a Tritton Warhead 7.1 for 75$ from a sale to use with my computer, and I already knew before I bought it that it was Xbox 360 exclusive. I saw a (shitty) video on youtube that showed that it was indeed possible to use the mic on PC before I bought it, but he didn't explain how and which cables you needed.

I really need your help now, this headset may not be returnable as its out of stock from where I bought it and its such a good headset (the sound is amazing), but the mic wont work with the standard cables you get with it.

Solution
To get your Tritton Warhead 7.1 Surround Sound Headset microphone working you have to buy a Wireless PC USB Gaming Receiver for Xbox 360 from Amazon ( from Microsoft ) or you can buy a third-party one to save about $5 dollars. Here is the link -http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419053294&sr=8-1&keywords=pc+adapter+for+xbox+360+microsoft

1) Hook up wireless adapter to PC
2) Install drivers for Wireless headset/other wireless Xbox 360 devices
3) And it's ready for use !
Interesting, after watching all of that video, I didn't see where the mic might have been put but I did see the speaker out, hmmm. I might suspect that one of the adapters sold by MadCatz http://store.madcatz.com/tritton-accessories/ may work but I found nothing to support that idea and quite a bit (including the manual) that indicates otherwise.
If you could link the video you saw (I can't find it) saying that the mic will work on a PC, that'd be awesome, maybe I can figure out what they've got going on

Hey it is possible to do this. I just wanted to know how its working for you (if you got the wireless receiver) because with me the mic works for a few minutes and then disconnects. I have to turn my warheads off and on to get the mic to work again.

Any help will actually be appreciated with my problem. Thanks

I know how to get the mic working but what cables do I need to get the sound working? I've tried using the opticle cable but when I do the sound is really bad and makes really loud weird noises making anything on my PC unable to hear. Does anyone know a fix for this and if not what other cables could I use to get sound working? Thanks

Just to double check this, because I'm looking at grabbing a pretty cheap pair for my pc. The wireless 360 receiver will work with the Warheads? Because I've not found anything else online to say it will.

Yeah but there was a persistent buzzing on the other end when using TS3 or Skype. Not worth it for pc. Grab a pair of Logitec g930's or Corsair h2100's if you want wireless

I'm only going to use it for gaming and talking to friends over steam

The buzzing will be there. Id suggest grabbing one of the ones I mentioned if you want to go wireless.
