so i got a laptop that was broken. i replaced the mobo and now it works. when i turned it on for the first time it said the battery is not detected. i figured that it sat so long that the battery was junk so i got a new one. i plunged it in and it work! i could use my laptop without a charger. but it still said the battery was not detected. i figured it was maybe a mistake or something. then the battery died. so i looked up what it could be and they said it could be the charger. so i got a genuine charger. that still didnt work. then i looked up how to get it to charge. i followed the directions (software related) and it still didnt work. some people said it cant work if the battery is already dead. so i want to ask you guys what i should do considering i cant find anything about having a battery not being detected and not charging after all of what i just did. should i get another battery and then try? or could it be cause i got a new mobo? keep in mind the battery was working just not charging. im thinking i could maybe take my old charger that still works, strip the positive and negative wires and charge the battery that way and then try. idk, what do you guys think?

If you can, I'd say return the charger, return the battery and like the song goes, Let it Go.

Unless this is the laptop that Jesus used, I don't think its worth it to much that much more into a laptop to get it fixed. You're better off using the money that you spend on repairs or even gutting it for parts to sell on craigslist or ebay and funding a new laptop.

the parts are all worth a good amount of money i guess. maybe i should. it was a good learning experience but other then that the thing is a pile of junk. way to many problems that could be way to many things. thanks for the advice. i also learned to that laptops suck and the desktop is superior. unless you know of a good laptop but they always seem to have problems compared to a costume pc
