I have a HP 2000 (Windows 8) and the screen display is very dim. But I can see it well enough if I shine a flashlight on it. I connect external display, but it's not working. I took the LED screen and tested with another HP Laptop, then the LED screen is working well. Otherwise, I replaced another LED Screen, but it's not working with my notebook.

I guess main board or video part is no good. What part is needed to be replaced?

Yeah and if you cant use an external display, its pretty much done. Judging from the series, the HP 2000s are a low cost models so their build quality isn't super fantastic. Repairs to fix this laptop probably isn't even worth it and its probably better to get a new one.

Its hard to diagnose the exact issue because not sounds like your VGA port is shot, and at the same time, the backlighting panel in your laptop is shot. The repairs would ultimately cost too much to be bothered to be repaired.

Sorry, Chief
