You can hope that someone at asus will warranty your computer you can buy a new OEM battery.
If it got down bellow the 5% mark and now it wont charge correctly then there is nothing you can do.
Just dont let it get that low agian.

Its not going to charge instantly.
You can try to let it be for a few hours.
Its possible that it will be fine, possible you will see a noticable drop in battery life, or possible it wont even hold more then a 5-10 min charge.
Those warnings are there for a reason, if the pc shuts off due to being at 5% you should never repower the computer without plugging it in first. If you did not keep turning it back on then the system must have frozzen or windows updates run and when it rebooted and applied updates is when it went critical

I wanna help from you recently I faced a problem of Almost battery discharge which caused the battery to be charged again and I downloaded a movie from Youtube showing how to remove battery. Then I went through, step by step, removing the battery from the Asus x551M
After removing the battery I put it in again and the problem was solved, it charged. But the touchpad failed after reconnecting the key board
