Toshiba L300 to TV

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 (Model PSLB1E-01U013N) and would like to view videos/movies being played on the laptop on my TV (Panasonic Viera). There is no HDMI cable jack on my laptop. Is it possible to do what I want or am I asking too much from my old laptop?

You have 2 choices depending,

a) A lot of TVs have VGA inputs could always try to use VGA for the video and then depending on the TV either a 3.5mm Audio cable or a 3.5mm Y-cable to get sound.

OR

b) Buy a USB to HDMI w/audio dongle (anywhere from $40 to $80)
