Good Mid-High range gaming PC

So This is going to be my very first Gaming PC ever, right now I'm playing on an imac with a GTX 745 1 gb xD.

So I decided to make my budget around 800$. Therefore, I will be building an AMD Gaming PC. I am not going to be one of those Crysis 3/BF4 Ultra settings Over-clocked gamers. No, I will be a very casual gamer. I will use all the stock settings for everything. Games I will be playing - CS:GO, TF2, Dota 2, L.O.L., LFD 2, Rust, Gmod, and Battlefield 3, Arma 3, Black Ops 2, MW3, Killing Floor, etc. I want to be able to play all these games on high-ultra settings, even though that won't require much.

Sure you want to go AMD? Intel would be fine for $800, you could get in an I5.

Not really. Stock is not a word you want to ear when talking about an amd gaming build now a days.

Yes, I know what You're thinking. Intel's Haswell architecture is significantly faster than AMD's Vishera, but AMD has more over-clock ability. I did state however, that I would not be overclocking as I am casual gaming, but there is a high chance I will do it in the future. So I may get that 970 you have suggested, but then stick with the Octa core AMD CPU, only because Overlocking is one of my future predicted actions. This includes overclocking my GPU as well as my CPU.

8-core AMD processors are like 4-core processors as far as games are concerned: FX-8350 has only 4 FPU's.
But its your money

Anyway as long as overclocking is a possibility you could achieve great performance gains w/ FX-8320.
However in order to overclock well you really need to choose wisely your motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P, MSI 970 GAMING, Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0, Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0, Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 are good options. Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5, ASRock 990FX Extreme9, Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7, Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 are even better options.

Ok. An AMD FX-8350 and an Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Mobo, it would run well with a gtx 970? I've hear that running an AMD CPU with an AMD GPU will run much faster than an AMD CPU with an nvidia GPU. Is this a false myth?

Last time i saw nvidia GPUs (700 series / 900 series) are working fine w/ AMD CPUs.
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 is a bad option for FX-8350. Good budget mobo: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P.
Asus M5A97 EVO/PRO are good though.

ASRock 970 Extreme3 will throttle on overclocked FX 8-core but ASRock 990FX Extreme4 is a great mobo.
