Lenovo offers some student discounts. What do you think about the ThinkPad E540: https://www.lenovocampus.de/produkte/notebooks/thinkpad-edge-serie.php
Or here an even cheaper one: http://www.notebooksbilliger.de/studentenprogramm/lenovo+studentenprogramm/lenovo+thinkpad+edge+e540+20c600j3ge

I found some models here: http://www.dell.com/de/unternehmen/p/latitude-e5540-laptop/fs
The second one looks interesting, though it costs 712.81 EUR (incl. taxes: 599 * 1.19).
The only thing I'm not sure about, is the integrated video card. Though I don't play games, I could perhaps need to use Photoshop or edit a video. Would the Intel HD Graphics 4400 be enough?

Thank you.
And what about GPU programming? If we need to parallelize using the GPU at the University.
