Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a Chromebook as a portable laptop for school and while I'm on the road. I'm looking for a Chromebook with an 11.6" display, fairly long battery life, and good build quality. I have a max budget of $300 but would like to keep it as cheap as possible.

I might also try running Linux on it, how does Linux run on 2 GB of RAM, and how is battery life on Linux?

I'm currently looking at the Dell Chromebook 13 and Acer C720 (not P). The Dell Chromebook 13" looks a bit nicer but is a bit pricey. I would prefer the C720 but I'm a bit worried about the lack of RAM. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Hows the Asus C300? It seems to have similar specs to the C720 but using a Broadwell proc instead of Haswell. I've heard it has far superior build quality, is it still fast enough for linux / general use?
