Intel option ASUS G75VX
i7-3630qm 2.4
GTX 670MX 3gb ddr5
750HDD + 512gb SSD

AMD: MSI GX70
A10-5750m (2.5)
Radeon 8970m 2gb ddr5
750HDD

I'm looking for general gaming performance, nothing else.

The 8970m is the faster mobile GPU while the i7-3630qm is the faster CPU. The MSI GX70 should preform better in games as they look for a stronger graphics card than anything else.

I have heard that the cpu is very weak to support the GPU, causing ~40% lower performance than intended.

That is a bit strange though, pairing a card with so much power along with a weak CPU. You are correct, it will be bottle-necked and there will most likely be stuttering as a result. The G75VX is the better option for games that require a powerful CPU while the MSI is better for GPU power. After bringing up the bottleneck, I would say that the GX75VX, while not preforming as well, will be a much better experience overall.

Yeah I know, pairing that card with an i7 would be a beast of a machine, but then again the price is affordable because of the cpu. Thanks for helping!

Now I'm hesitating between the asus and this one http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GE70-2OE.html#hero-overview which apparently has problems with heat

My budget is maximum 550 euros. And all the laptops mentioned above are second hand (~1 year old). And those 3 were the best in quality/price that I could find.

If the 670mx is overclocked, it is on the level of 770mx apparently.
Asus runs much cooler than the msi

I think if the laptop runs cooler at the start he has overclocking potential, as laptops which have added heat have no OC potential because they would grill the components.

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html Here the 670mx stand above the 765m by a little.

I think the difference of the performance is minimal.

And on futuremark (not sure what it is) http://www.futuremark.com/hardware/gpu It's ranked as #10 in the laptop graphics card category, and 765m is 3 places behind

I am not sure that you will have the ability to overclock these notebooks, but I would much rather have the ASUS. It is cooler, quieter, and you seem to have a confidence in its performance. Go for it.
