my toshiba L300 wont restore back to its factory settings. what can i do? thanks in advance to anyone who can help me

I have recently acquired a Toshiba Satellite laptop. I have tried factory reset by holding down 0 (zero) in the top row of buttons and switching it on but it jus keeps going to load my desktop. Can somebody please help me

Note item #4 to keep holding down 0 until options are given.

BTW, if you recently acquired this system, why are you restoring to factory settings already?

Initiating a system restore happens before any antivirus protection is initiated. It is also activated outside of Windows and before Safe or Normal Mode begins. It is a process completely outside of Windows.
