as long as the laptop uses the same ide or sata connector it does not matter the brand of the drive. the only issue is the drivers that are installed on the laptop drive now. most laptops dont use the same chipset and windows may not like the drivers on the drive. you may have to boot into safe mode and reinstall the drivers.
