connect Bose cinemate to phillips 4000 series tv

Please help! Cannot get sound to the Bose speakers. I have tried TV speakers on / off...confirmed the Bose cinemate is working...trying to use digital audio out with a converter to optical connection from tv to bose

The Philips 4000 series seems to have coax digital audio out and the Bose seems to have the same connection. If your Bose has optical only then the coax digital to optical digital converter should work. Try going into the TV audio menu and see if there is an alternative output mode.
It might give you a choice between Dolby and PCM for instance. What ever it is at change it to the other one.
