Hi, just recently found a really good deal on a low end Asus laptop which was a display model at Fry's. Did a factory reset through the settings. Is the unit safe from a security setup perspective? Could there be malware that resides on the system afterwards despite this? Thanks for your help.

A factory reset should get rid of anything, if your worried, try any of the online scanners.
