Looks like for gaming, the GT 840 is a much better option but for everything else, the quad core i7 is superior. Guess you need to decide which is more important. I think I'd go with ASUS if I was gaming but if not, I'd definitely go with the HP which could still play most games on low or medium settings.

i've found this gpu review and I compared the Radeon 8670M to the 1GB Nvidia 840M (that's supposed to be 2GB). The 1GB Nvidia (which is supposed to be 2GB) dominated the Radeon on every benchmark. I'm in doubt if the Radeon can play HD games like COD and Metro.

As I said, it can play demanding games at lower settings. You can probably play the most demanding games out there with the HD 4000 graphics at extremely low settings. Well, maybe not, but you get the idea. Here is a more comparable comparison with more accurately represented hardware than that GPU boss review.

And further indication that the 8670M can probably play most modern games at medium or at least low settings:

Looks like I'm gonna go with the HP for a laptop and go buy a desktop which is really suitable for gaming. Thank you for the effort lad!
