screen only works if I bend the lid slitely any one what's up with it

Solution

Even if the laptop is dead, that doesn't mean that the hard drive isn't. I've pulled lots of perfectly working hard drives out of dead laptops before and putting them in external USB enclosures gives them new life.

1. Sorry dude, worst case, I can't program that. Buy a new one. Physical Damage! If I throw my computer in the pool can you give me a CD that will just fix it.

2. Gutsy, Buy a broken laptop of ebay with the same specs. Get one where the screen works but everything else is broken, then transfer your parts. Your buying a new one anyway?

3. Fork out more money then what the laptops worth to get it repaired

Do this before the screen goes! TRUST ME prepare....

Do you have a second computer in the house, enable remote desktop on you laptop while your friend holds the screen, simply remote log into the laptop from a normal machine. Set it up so you can turn on the laptop an not touch it an remote log in incase you loose your screen the next day? It will happen soon, when it does, to retrieve your data.

Go to a desktop computer, Unplug the CDROM an plug in the laptop hard drive then turn on the deskto computer an retrieve your files

You better check with strip ( a connector from motherboard to display screen). Its faulty & need to replace

Or you could take the much easier route and pull the hard drive out of the laptop and put it into an external USB enclosure and then copy your files to your PC that way.

If you need to save files from it I would recommend simply plugging in a VGA monitor to the VGA port on the laptop (assuming it has a VGA port) rather than connecting via RDP, removing the hard drive, etc

It sounds like the cables which run up through the hinges from the LCD display to the motherboard is getting pulled on or pinched somehow, I would take off all the plastic case pieces so the display wires are exposed, follow them to where they connect to the motherboard and make sure the connection is plugged in tight. If you've never done this sort of thing and think you might end up doing more harm than good you may be better off sending it in to be repaired... is it still under any sort of warranty?
