I would like to buy a laptop mainly for games that are coming out this year and the next, at mostly high settings. Will these specs be enough for me?

Intel Core i7-4710MQ processor (3.5GHz)
16GB DDR3L RAM
NVIDIA GTX860M with 2G DDR5 Dedicated Video Card & Intel HD 4600
1TB SATA HDD + 120GB SSD

If these aren't for what I want I'd appreciate it if you could give me an idea on what I should really be looking for.

You're gaming laptop will be able to handle whatever is thrown at it. It could last you a good 4-5 years. However, 16 GB of memory is a little bit too much if you want to save money, 8 GB is just fine. Its your decision

Yes, as far as laptops go I think you should be able to run games for at least 2 years on ultra-high. The 860M is a very good mobile GPU - even comparable to some desktop GPUs so I think you dont need to worry. Other specs are also good - a little overkill to be honest so should last you quite a while.

However even then I would recommend going the desktop route for PC gaming ash high end desktop GPUs will still blow this out of the water.

If you can, downgrade your RAM to 8GB, and upgrade your GPU to a GTX 870M.
This will make your laptop FAR more capable to survive the onslaught of the next gen games, because the GTX 860M is a bit weaker than the GTX 750 ti (desktop),
and you want something better than that for maxing out games for longer.
