I have been running my new computer for close to 2 months now without Anti Virus or anything like that and i know most people don't see the use in these programs but i had recently gotten a RAT on my old computer (not the reason i bought a new computer) and it stole many of my accounts and i know most people are going to say "just don't be dumb and you wont get a virus" or "use common sense" but i download a fairly large amount of torrents and recently i have been worried that i would get another Key Logger or RAT so in your opinion what is the best Antivirus/Anti Malware program?

TLDR best Antivirus/Anti Malware program?

while no one program will absolutely protect you,not using protection will practically guarantee you will get infected.avast is one of the top free antiviruses out there.couple that with malwarebytes (i recommend the paid version),plus enabling the windows firewall is a decent layered protection.this coupled with some common sense will go a long ways to protect your computer.another point to consider is keeping a regular backup so if you are infected and cant get rid of it you at least have the backup.when you do get an infection its important to find out exactly what it is as there is no one magic program to get rid of malware.hope this helps.

dont know about you but ive been able to get rid of anything that has hit my computer and nothing got "killed" in the process.ive run the same install of windows for almost 4 years now.it seems you dont think avs are needed and thats fine,i respect that, but the op was asking for opinions on what av/malware programs are best.
