I have a Bose Wave audio system with an RCA line out in the back and an RCA line in next to it. I have two sets of ceiling speakers which I would like to use to play the Bose sound. Purchasing an inexpensive distribution amplifier, I placed RCA connectors on the bare speaker wires; then connected the Bose line out to the distrib. amp line in with RCA stereo wire on both ends. I then plugged the speaker wires into the speaker outs in the distrib. amp, NO SOUND to the speakers. Testing further with a Yamaha receiver I connected the speaker posts on the Yamaha with the same speaker (RCA plugs removed, so only bare wire). Playing the Yamaha tuner results in the sound playing out of the speakers. What am I doing wrong that the Bose will not send audio out to the speakers?

"I placed the RCA connectors on the bare speaker wires"
Please elibarate on what you did, RCA and speaker wires are not exactly interchangable (you can make an rca cable from a speaker wire but RCA is a low level and speaker is a high level input and not to be mixed around). Now are you meaining bannana plugs and not RCA??

What you should have is RCA out from Bose going to RCA input to distribution amp, and bare speaker wire from amp to speakers (or bannana plugs if it uses that over crimp terminals).
I would test a different sound input device instead of the bose to test your amp.
What do you have for the distribution amp?
