I'm looking to buy a low budget (used is fine) laptop, mostly for movies, writing papers, general stuff, no games. Any suggestions? Also for the record by low budget I'm talking sub 400 if possible

Any laptop covers your needs. But look for one with a Intel Celeron CPU 2955U or 1017U, those are great everyday CPUs.

But seriously, any modern CPU can do those things, at the low end you can buy a decent cheap machine and with the saved money, you can invest on a decent SSD and add more RAM. Then you have a great everyday and office laptop.

If you can, check for some laptop models that fit in your budget at your store and post them. We can help you choose then.

I would wait a while hp is getting ready to release some pretty nice intel celeron laptops that also look pretty nice. One of them is going to be 300 bucks i think. Your could also try using a tablet with a keyboard. I use a android tablet for my homework and note taking and see no reason for a high end laptop till i take more programming courses in college.
