I want to buy a new laptop since my previous one was stolen :/  I have a budget of 600. I would only use the laptop to browse, stream Netflix, WatchESPN and occasional word processing and excel. I would prefer one with 1080p since I love to watch hd movies

There are lots of choices in that price range, however finding one with a full HD screen limits your choices in the $600 range. Most laptops with HD screens come in at a higher price point, sometimes $200 more than what your budget is. My suggestion is start with Dell.com. You can find some good deals and they have sales all the time for $200+ off their regular prices. I used Dell exclusively when I worked in IT and they are good machines. The ones that had the 1080 screens were in the $800+ range for the Inspiron and XPS. You can get a nice Inspiron with a 1600x900 (not full HD, but still nice) for around $600. The jump to the full HD is another $200. You could also look Lenovo. They have good machines at good prices, or HP. Even so, for full HD plan to spend at least $800 unless you buy a used one.

Thank you Sirstinky. I guess you are right. Talking about XPS, what do you think about this? Do you have any experience with this tablet/laptop?

With Dell coupon of 50, it will come down to 650 which I can try to squeeze in. I would love to hear some opinion who have used this machine before committing to it. Thanks

Thanks Brinajay0914. Yes, there are couple of Lenovo deals at that price range. But I have read a lot of reviews saying their displays and sounds are bad. That's why I am stalling on buying one of them. Do you have a Lenovo laptop? or any experience with them?
