video card (780 GeForce 6v ram) doesn't have 2 hdmi ports so how do I get 4k res. I read you need 2 hdmi to get 4k on tv max atm is 2560 x 1440 and that is as high 1 hdmi cable can send/receive

They have many more than 1 HDMI input but don't need more than one to be used at a time. HDMI can support higher refresh rates but cheap 4k monitors don't through HDMI. Thats one of the reasons they are so cheap. There is also HDMI 2.0 which is available on newer 4K TVs.
If a PC monitor has 2 hdmi inputs I don't think they can be used like dual DVI.

First, does your TV is 4K? If it isn't, well....
Does your TV support the dual HDMI 1.4 to render 4K 60Hz? If it doesn't, you can't use that feature even if your GPU supports it. Just 4K 30Hz, maybe.

DisplayPort can be adapted to all the other outputs (VGA, DVI, HDMI).

Does 4K TVs come with only 1 HDMI? That's crappy.

HDMI 1.4 only supports 4K at 30Hz (or 30fps max.), which is enough for TV content or movies, but not for games. Some computer monitors come with dual HDMI or dual DVI to be able to render 4K at "60Hz". I don't if any 4K TV has this compatibility.
