Lenovo laptop
AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M 2.8Ghz
12GB 1600Mhz

vs

Lenovo Yoga 2
Intel Pentium N3510 quad core 2.42GHz
4gb

budget is around 500 looking at playing skyrim. read some reviews saying the extra ram with the amd laptop helps as the cpu's onboard graphics gets dedicated more memory increasing performance compared to the limited memory of the intel. Not sure if the intel would out perform the amd due to its architecture?

The A8 has better graphics than the intel HD built into the pentium, though the CPU might be slower. I think you will get better performance out of the AMD, although maybe trying to go for an A10 would be a better idea.

Don't think many games utilize more than 8gb of ram. Most never even reach that point. Definitely helpful to have more if you want to run a lot of background things though.

i was reading somewhere that there is a certain amount allocated to your system so if you have more ram then it can allocate 4 gb or more to the gpu
