Hi, I have an HP Envy 15z-j100 series laptop, with an AMD A8 5550M processor. I'm still fairly new to the upgrading and conquering game, but I seriously think an upgrade to an A10 would be a welcome advance. Is it possible to change the CPU in this laptop? If so, what's a really nice processor I can fit in it? I'd love something on par with my AMD FX 6300 in my desktop.

Laptops are definitely upgradeable, but prebuilt laptops don't allow it without voiding the warranty (because it's not their fault if you open it up without knowing what's going on)

Laptops aren't really meant for gaming, and it's hard to find a decent priced GPU that will actually boost your system (I wish they'd start supporting external vidcards) But if you really want to, I'd say go for it
