5.1 surround sound setup problems

i recently made the purchase of a sc-btt460 and so far ive plugged the extra cable i brought from the back of the main hub to the back of my pc which was one of these

i have now also connected all teh cables to the speakers and powered the main hub on, i am not kinda lost with what to do as i cant find anything in the manual for connecting it to a pc.

any help would be amazing
ps im good with computers but not with audio
 
Solution
Make sure the the S/PDIF that says Rear Panel Optical is selected as the default audio device.
Make sure that your Home Theater system is set to the correct input (Optical).
Test each of the available settings as outlined on pg 38 of your home theater system's manual (linked above) to see if ANY of them produces sound.

If none of them do, then I'm at a loss.
