sorry for my ignorance..

currently changed my vga adapter into hdmi, but my problem is my resolution is stucked on 1280x720. i hate it because the icons and the windows button is outside the monitor.

is there a way that let me choose my resolution into 1280x1024?

Most TVs overscan the picture so that there are no blanks at the edges. If this is causing you to lose some icons then check the TV menus to see if there are any setting like pixel by pixel that would help. Sometimes you have to get into the service menu to adjust this. If the PC is at fault these might help

The only way to adjust your resolution is to do so through software such as with Windows (in the control panel under display) or whatever your video card has for it. What is the native resolution of your monitor? The reason I ask is because the HDMI connection should have defaulted to it.
