Hi I'm a game development student and I will be buying a laptop. I need advise on what GPU do I need. Is it nVidia Quadro card or a nVidia GTX card? I will be using Autodesk Maya, Adobe Products (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier, After Effects), Unity and some others that I still do now know. My laptop will only be for school related works not for gaming since I already have my desktop PC for gaming. And also what brand and model? Also is the newest Macbook Pro with Retina Display the one with GT 750M GPU a good choice? Some of my friends tell me it is a good choice while some said it is not. Thank you for the help everyone.

EDIT:
I would like to love a screen size of not grater than 15.6". Resolution of 1920 x 1080. But if not possible its okay.
Budget is around $1,500 - $2,000

Look for a workstation model, Lenovo W series, some T420 and 430 models come with Quadro cards, HP Z series. Many of those are pretty bulky though but very well suited for pro work with plenty of cooling, good screens, video cards and RAM espantion. My Lenovo W520 has 4 RAM slots, normal laptops have 2. A MAC will work for you as well but you will be paying another 30% over a Windows laptop for the name for the same or lower performance.

Nvidia Quadro GPUs will do better here. Most Quadros are found in workstation models

Let's see: 2500$ (over your budget), 750m GPU (this is easily found in 800$ devices), 2.5Ghz Dual Core i5 CPU (Cheap GPU), 16GB memory (memory is 10$/GB), Native resolution: 2880 by 1800 (Breaks 16:9 ratio, 16:9 is 2880x1620 if I recall correctly), 512GB SSD (which is expensive and fast, but it's 200$ or 250$ and you can install one in any pc)

The sole reason anyone should get a macbook is because there's something you can do on OSX that you can't on Windows.
