Operating system not found

My laptop acer aspire 4750 says operating system not found. Alt+ F10 doesn't work for me either. Please help?

Do you have an external hard drive, flash drive, or other media plugged in?? If so try removing it and reboot.

+1 to the above message. Remove any USB device or disks that are in this computer. Reboot.

Did you open the bios for any reason? You might want to check the boot order and make sure that the first boot device is your hard drive.

Was this computer dropped? or receive any kind of shock like a kick?

In the last few days it keeps on crashing and freezing then earlier it went back to normal. I turned it off then when I tried to open it again, it says operating system not found.

I have a feeling that your HDD has kicked the bucket. If you dont have any USB devices plugged in or disks in the tray you should look into a new HDD. Do you possibly have a way to pull this HDD and plug it into another computer?

You can try to reinstall windows. If your HDD is dead or on the way out you are going to get tons of errors.

I would put reinstalling windows 7 as your last resort, but the list for trouble shooting this is honestly short and has already been said above.

But.... give the reinstall a shot... if it does not work let us know. We can point you in the direction to replace your HDD. Its a very easy component to replace.

I would try to reinstall windows. It would be my last ditch effort. I dont think its going to fix much, but its worth the try.
