I am using my mac mini (late 2009) which doesnt transfer audio over mini display port. so i connect the mac to tv via a hdmi cable and I'm using a mini display to hdmi converter. and for audio i am using an av cable directly from mac to the tv.
My TV (LG 32LB550B LCD HDTV) doesn't recognise the audio and video together. It seems to be 2 different inputs as far as the menu goes (i can switch to "hdmi" and see the video and i can switch to "AV2" and hear the audio.
is there anyway that i could have both audio and video together on tv?

To my knowledge, using a mini display port to HDMI converter should transfer sound as well (since HDMI is a digital signal and carriers sound and video), at least it does for my MacBook Pro. You shouldn't need to run an AV cable. Have you tried it without the AV?
