I'm really torn between these three models. Doing some casual AutoCAD, light/mild gaming and some business. I want a reliable, long lasting laptop. Would like good battery life 3 hours of over but it's not a deal breaker. Quad-cores seem to eat up the battery more than duals, so any input between these three would be very helpful. Prices are about $550-680-750 between the three models. I see some good reviews on them but some say the screens are not all that great and others say they are. In your opinion, is the price difference warranted for these models, or too much? Or should I forget about these models entirely? Thanks in advance.

Casual AutoCAD seems to mean that performance is not an absolute must.
Light/mild gaming generally means you will not be playing graphically demanding games especially considering you will be relying on the Intel HD 4600 graphics core. Most games do not use more than 2 cores. Even some "AAA" games still uses only a single core like the entire Assassin's Creed series.
The Core i5-4200m seems to be best suited for your needs.
The Core i3-4000m lacks Turbo Boost so the CPU does not overclock itself to provide extra performance. However, it is good enough for your needs if price is a major concern.
The Core i7-4702mq is a pretty powerful CPU, but based on your needs it is not necessary especially since it will consume more power and reduce battery life.

I agree with Jaguarskx! The i5 should be perfect for your needs. However, if money isn't a huge concern, I think the upgrade to the i7 would be worth the value. The quad-core vs. dual-core is a tremendous difference in processing power.
