Couple months ago I needed a new laptop and with my budget the Lenovo G505s (AMD A10 5750M - AMD Radeon HD 8670G) from amazon. (I live in Jamaica, irrelevant) The laptop ran everything so smooth, Battlefield 3 ran on 30fps on ultra. League of legends ran at 40fps at max as well just to show the range. When I got back to Jamaica from NY BF3 started to drop in fps, it was fine on low but to this day it only runs at 5fps on the min gfx settings, but that wasn't really an issue since I mostly played mmos and LoL.
2 days ago I did my regular scans with windows defender, which I completely forgot was running and went into a custom game on league and I was lagging badly, my fps drops every time I moved my champion. It would go from 80fps to 5fps when i moved and I thought it was nothing, so after the scan finished I restarted hoping it would fix the problem but it didn't. This has been happening with a lot of games, I just got Aion and Firefall and it runs at 30 fps but suddenly even with no one around the fps drops to 5.
My plan is to reformat (return to factory settings or just reinstall the OS)
tl;dr Games are lagging after I scanned not sure if the scan was the problem.

What you could do instead is reinstall the games. It could be that some file may have been affected by the scan which is causing your games to lag. Another reason could be your wifi. If the wifi is not strong in games like lol, then it can lag.

Let me know if it is any of the 2 above.
