Hey Guys.

So photography has always been a big intrest of mine, and I've decieded to take the jump to a DSLR camera :) I've seen two so far that are a reasonable price, those being the Nikon D3200 and the Canon EOS 600D. I prefer the look of the Canon, but the nikon is a higher MP. I know that bigger isnt always better but ya know.. Just not sure on this one :p So If anyone could advise me on what one to chose? Or any alternatives withtin the same price range? I'd be using it primarily for photography and probably a good bit for short films which are another hobby of mine.

Thanks in advance!

The best way to decide is to go and try them both for yourself. How you handle the camera is more important than its technical prowess.

I still shoot with a D90, which is six years old and "only" has 12MP, but the way the camera handles is fantastic. I can quickly switch between modes and settings without ever having to take my eye away from the viewfinder, so I always get the shot I want.

Also remember that when you buy into a dSLR, you're buying into the lenses, flashguns and other accessories. If you buy a Nikon and build up a collection of lenses, you'll find it very difficult to switch to another brand.

Take the one you like more, without a doubt.

One small consideration is that Canons are a bit more dedicated to people, while Nikons are a bit more perfect for landscape and street photos... Oh, not mind! Just take the one you feel more comfortable or stylish!
