Hey guys
I was recently playing some cs:go on my MSI GT683 laptop when it suddenly turned off without warning.
It now will not turn on.

After a bit of fiddling around I discovered one issue and that is when I plug the charger into the wall socket the green light on the charger lights up like normal but then as soon as I plug the charger into the laptop the green light disapears.

Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, when you had your problem, the adapter was connected to the laptop. Try booting with just the adapter, without the battery.

I think you're right, I've tryed a new adapter with no luck. So it must be the power jack or something.

Sounds like an internal short. If you know what you're doing take the casing off and see if the internal jack socket has come away from the board (common fault) if it has, desolder it and resolder it, see if that fixes it. If you dont know how to do this (safely too, you want to use too much heat and damage the board) take it to a repair shop, it will be repairable, if its the socket it should be cheap, however if it is the motherboard it probably wont be worth doing

Commonly laptops are abused and bent! If the jack is on the back it tends to get push down as the cable is pushed up when used on a lap, sofa or bed. It is certainly a short though and it will need either the short fixing or a new board, which is either a cheap fix or probably a new machine if its out of warranty
