Is it my router that is doing this? Because it was working perfectly fine before.

I really need help with my internet now. Mainly my router. I bought a Belkin G54/N150 wireless wifi router because, everyone in my house had to rearrange/switch rooms and I can't have my internet via wired connection on my game consoles anymore. So I hooked it up and configured everything like the instructions told me to. Then I go on my PS3 to play a game specifically MW2 and every game about 10-20 games I tried each lagged out like crazy and I kept getting timed out from the match. I then ran a speed test on my laptop and got a speed of 22MBs download speed and 5.6MBs upload. So I get back on my PS3 and redo the internet settings to see the estimated speeds and I get a wopping 22MBs per second on it. So I don't really understand what was wrong with it it was working fine before too I had a program on my laptop MHotspot that requires a wired connection to use and everything was working fine (That was before I got the router can't use wired anymore) Please help I really want to play ps3 I've only had the router for 3 days I can go on the internet fine and watch tons of youtube videos and stuff but I can't play one match.

Solution
Its not the router, wireless connection isn't the best for gaming, the time taken by ps3 to send signals and the router converts it, takes time. Which simply means higher ping, ie, lagging in match, etc. This'll be more in FPS games.
PS: Please don't post in all bold.

Hey thanks, but, I figured out the wireless N routers don't even support current gen consoles :( only next gen consoles. I guess I'll be playing my PS4 a whole lot more.
