I've read about a thousand articles, and watched hundreds of videos on YouTube, even went down to the local frys electronics for a hands on experience.

First off, I'm not sure where exactly this post belongs, so, sorry if this isn't the proper place.

I'm selling my gaming PC, and buying a laptop. I'm going into nursing school next semester and A) need a laptop, and B) need to stop gaming as much. And I figure selling my beauty and the accompanying 32" LED, I'll game a little less, I hope ;)

Simply, I'd like to know why the Macbook Pro feels so nice to use, to me. I've compared it, in person, to similar, or more expensive windows laptops, and I just don't get the quality feel, be it hardware: flexing keyboard, screen, cheap plastics, etc. or the way the OS feels, snappy, fluid, and that "just works" feel. Why don't I get the same excited feeling on the super powered windows laptops? I found these 2 laptops, that beat out, by far, the macbook at similar prices, yet in my hands, felt lackluster. I know that in pure FPS, or pure power, the windows computers linked would out-due the macbook, but I catch myself still enjoying the experience of the mac...

I'm really looking for as unbiased an answer as possible. I know a lot of you will just say "If you like it, buy it! It's all personal preference" But when you have such huge fans on either side, it makes you doubt why you like something. I've never owned a mac btw, I've built powerhouse PC's for about a decade now, and have always kinda snickered at the dudes in scarfs at Starbucks on there MBP's.

Any feedback would be super groovy. Thanks :)

Lenovo is the last non-apple manufacturer who builds their laptops properly (most of the time). i wouldn't bother with the asus at all. it something happens and you'll need customer support, you ain't getting it.

The reason why the macbook feels good is the materials and the price. As the macbook pro is quite expensive they can put good materials in it. As for the os, it works as they are focused on speed and simplicity rather than on how much can be customised.

Deciding on the laptop is your choice. It will depend on what you do on it. If you want to only use mac software then it is worth looking into. Otherwise it is better of getting a windows pc as the drivers for the mac for windows is not as good.
