I need to view the date stamp information from movie clip taken on Sony HandCam for legal documentation My employer says that by putting the sd card into our computer we lost the datestamp information. I can see the information on my copies on the computer but not in the display. How can I make a copy to view back on my camera to see if it will display?

What is the model of the Sony Handycam? I don't know about all models but there is an option to turn the date/time stamp on or off on the camera display on some. The date/time stamp should be embedded in the video and should not be lost even if transferred/copied to a computer. You shouldn't need to copy the videos back to the SD card unless they were moved instead of copied.
