I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my desktop, which I use to work on when I'm home, but the last time I bought a laptop it was an HP, and it was full of features, latest technology, etc. I also bought a 2nd HP laptop as a backup, which has recently overheated and won't power on anymore. My work desktop runs 3 monitors, 1 which runs at 2460 x 1400 and the other two run at 1920 x 1080 (1920 x something). I'm running an Asus Maximus VI Formula ROG MB, 16GB G.Skill memory, EVGA 780ti Superclocked 384 bit 3GB graphics card, custom water loop cooling system, everything was top of the line when I bought it because when I buy something, I want it to last at least a few years.
It's been so long since I've shopped for a notebook, with the exception of an Asus Vivobook Ultrabook that I bought and received yesterday. This thing is going back because it's a step down from what I'm used to using. My desktop before the one I'm using now was an HP, but then I realized that I could buy all my components, design it however I want, and it'lists blow the doors off any showroom PC, especially when I'm overclocking it.
So, now I need some advice on a notebook, that I can travel with and do all my work stuff on, and I'very come to discover that gaming laptops don't just give you power playing games, it helps all around.
Can anyone suggest what notebooks (laptops, or whatever they're referred to now) that are top of the line, upgradable memory, wireless AC, preferably an Intel processor? I'd really like a 4K screen if possible, and SSD hard drives. The MSI I was looking at had GeForce graphics cards setup in SLI, which I thought was awesome for a notebook.
Since I have no idea who is leading the market with technology in the notebook market, I would love to have some opinions on what kind of notebook you would buy if money were no object. Thanks.
