I was given a i5 s6000 awhile back and decided to try and replace the dc jack. I was able to do so but lights go on a second the fan spins then boom right back off. The laptop is still disassembled down to the motherboard and the keyboard and many screws are still in my handy magnetic holder. The RAM, cpu, cpu fan and all important components are connected so I cannot figure out why it wont stay on longer then a second.

Do I need to completely reassemble the laptop for it to turn on, or does this mean something is wrong with the MB?

Does anyone have any ideas?
