I currently have the sims 3 and about 6 expansion packs. I am trying to buy another one. Game play has been kind of laggy, but I don't know if that's just because of the nightlife and pets expansion pack, because I know a lot of people have been having problems with nightlife. I'm trying to figure out if it's my computer. I have a Toshiba satellite C55 series laptop that only cost me $249 in office depot. Is this kind of computer usually good with the sims 3?

Yes, it's the computer. For a laptop to be able to handle games even at low settings, you need about a $500 system. SIMS 3 is not super demanding like some games but does want a medium level system to run well.

Your Toshiba satellite C55 has a low end CPU and slow video, even at low settings SIMS 3 will have issues running.

This is exctly what happens when people buy cheap laptops, a month later there is reget that it's too slow and was basically a waste of money as now they want to buy a faster one.

The C55 laptop has integrated graphics most likely rather than an independent graphics processing unit so you will not see very good graphical performance. You will have to lower your graphics settings in order to increase the framerate of the game.
