Its spec - http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail... - says
º Dual-channel DDR2 memory architecture
º 2 x 240-pin DDR2 DIMM socket support up to 2 GB
º Support DDR2 667/533/400 DDR2 SDRAM

so 4gb max of really slow DDR2 ram

CPU - LGA775 socket for latest Intel Core 2 Duo / Pentium D / Pentium 4 / Celeron D processor

I'd advise against spending any money on it. You can find these in dumpsters.

Would it be applicable to upgrade the motherboard and the rest of the components like power supply processor and ram, and all still fit in the same tower case. or would you suggest taking the HDD and disk drives and starting from the ground up, im trying to upgrade this one for possible gaming/music production just not heavy heavy gaming or production just enough to get the job done.

If the HDD are of the same vintage then they are rubbish by today's standards.
